Martino Stierli는 2015년부터 뉴욕 현대 미술관(The Museum of Modern Art, MoMA)에서 건축가 Phillip Johnson의 건축 및 디자인 부문 수석 큐레이터를 역임하고 있다. Martino는 건축과 디자인 분야의 특별 전시, 설치, 편집 등 광범위한 프로그램을 관할하고 있다.

Martino는 『Montage and the Metropolis: Architecture, Modernity and the Representation of Space』, 『Las Vegas in the Rearview Mirror: The City in Theory, Photography, and Film』의 저자이며 다양한 주제의 전시를 공동 기획하고 있다. 베니스에서 열린 제14회 건축비엔날레에서 《Las Vegas Studio: Images from the Archives of Robert Venturi》, 《Denise Scott Brown》, 《The Architecture of Hedonism: Three Villas in the Island of Capri》 전시를 기획하였다. 또한 그는 MoMA에서 기획한 《Toward a Concrete Utopia: Architecture in Yugoslavia, 1948-1980》 전시와 Ann Temkin과 함께 기획한 《From the Collection: 1960-1969》를 전시하며 독립 후 남아시아 건축에 대한 거대 규모의 전시를 진행해오고 있다.

MoMA에 합류하기 전, Martino는 스위스 취리히 대학교(University of Zurich’s Institute)의 예술사 연구와 스위스 국립과학재단(Swiss National Science Foundation) 교수를 역임하였다. 그는 취리히와 바젤에 있는 프린스턴 대학교(Princeton Universuty)와 ETH 취리히에서 박사 학위를 받으며 교단을 잡았다. 2012년에는 로스엔젤레스에 위치한 게티 연구 재단(Getty Research Institute)에서 연구원을 지냈으며 그라함 재단(Graham Foundation)의 출판 부문, 스위스 정부의 스위스 미술 대전(Swiss Art Award) 2011 문화, 건축 비평 부문 등 수많은 수상 경험이 있다.
