This year, in its sixth year, the Gapado Artist in Residence has hosted seven artists. The 2023 Open Studio Artists in Residence exhibition showcases the transformations that these seven artists have undergone since entering Gapado's space and time, each building their practice on the mainland and other continents. Immersed in an environment that fosters the five senses and inspiration, the works will project the traces of their challenges and experiments as they push their own boundaries with repeated discoveries. We invite you to follow along on their artistic journeys, using their works as buoys to discover what this Island has brought out in them, offering both the freedom of the wind and the helplessness and humility of being thoroughly controlled.
